I have checked the stoppages programme and there appears to be a stoppage at Baddiley lock No 2 on the Llangollen from 5th Nov till 21st Dec but it does not appear on the waterscape website. Does anyone know whether this stoppage is happening please? Thanks Mike

Yes Kingsground are very much in business and we have our sheared boat based at the new Enslow Mill moorings. These are in the process of being developed and I believe will have a full range of services when finished. When I was there a few weeks ago there were still only limited services but we were told that they were planning on having pump out available this month and fuel at some point as well. I do not know if this has happened though.

We are planning to go down through Oxford, onto the Thames and up to Lechlade and back next week. Does anyone have any advice as to places to moor and pubs etc to visit please? Also if anyone has any general advice about cruising the upper reaches of the Thames I would be most grateful. Many thanks Mike

Hiring has now become prohibitively expensive for many which is why I have recently bought into a shared ownership scheme. One other way of sometimes getting acheap deal is to keep an eye out on E-bay. Boats for hire appear on there at fairly regular intervals and I have bought one before for about £400 all in for a week in April.
