  1. I think the process involves pumping large quatities of co2 into the atmosphere which is not good for the planet.
  2. Our shared NB supplied by Carefree Cruising was 3 weeks late. Something to do with the hull builder's in UK being unable to do the job and it had to be done in the Czech Republic instead. Then it got stopped and searched by customs in Hull. Nice boat though.
  3. If you join the Ouse at Selby from the Selby Canal you don't need to go via the Trent.
  4. We filled up at a hire base in Stone last Wednesday (5th May) and they had been checked by the Trading Standards the day before. The sheet showed 20 litres purchased by them. There was a sticker on the pump saying it had been calibrated the day before.
  5. That's the jobbie. Otherwise known as a handcuff key.
  6. It's probably just as quick to do the Cheshire ring as it is to do Bugsworth and back.
  7. Simple solution here, just go quicker past moored boats!
  8. Thanks for the link about Poste Restante. I didn't know about that service. I'll see what the local coucil say about sending the ballot papers to Penkridge PO.
  9. We are due a two week trip on our shared ownership NB Winding Down ending on 8th May. I consider it important to vote in the General Election so I've been looking into postal voting. It seems that once you've applied for a postal vote they send out the ballot papers "about a week" before the election. We'll already be on Winding Down by then. Can you get mail sent to a Post Office for collection? You can get the ballot forms sent anywhere. We have no family around here and don't really want to involve neighbours or friends in proxy voting for us. What do others do in this situation?
