  17. gosh it seems an age,but it is only a week since the phone call.! hello grandad is it alright if me and claire come and stay with you and nan for a few days.YOU BETYA.Another male in the house a football allie albiate he man utd me aston villa.and so my eldest grandson 25 years of age on leave from the army came to stay.now what fab weather,we had some drinks some great food on the barbie, and a really great time. All to soon it was sunday night and time for them to go,huggs and kisses, and they were off. Time to get back to nomal life .Monday check my emails, oh cwdf threads .aagghhhhh whoose been at my lappie.??? well of course no one had .exept me at some god given hour trying to show of to my grandson about a webb site, that my wife has said was called somthink like the discussions pool room and had a digital bar where everyone chats and tells jokes. And after phoneing my daughter and asking why she,d changed my password ?? to which i was told ***** is not your password ,thats part of your email address. your password is ####### .so why you change it i said .i havn,t your drunk !! .Well keep your hands of my computer .THAT TOLD HER.Now according to my wife who was in the other room ,i was saying to my grandson "there,s no one there, but theyare always there"Well grandad should you not click on a page.?? Don,t tell me what to do,its my favourite site. And the rest is history i have not got the slightest memory of said encounter. SO now if i offended anyone i sincerley appologise ,and to carlt, thank you for bieng a gentleman with what i think summed up my conditon,, to which all he said was ," and you sir will be sober in the morning ". actually i was not 100% perfectly virtical till teatime the following day. So a silly old fool says sorry to one and all. god willing my grandson will come through his second tour overseas, and should he come over again i promise to put my lappie in my wife bedroom beforhand.now that is hallowed ground .......mike phipps
  18. again i say anglers may take upto 1000 yards or even more if its a national contest but for one day boaters can stay for 48hrs or 7 days shame you can,t give a little in the world where you are suposed to be able to slow down
  19. you are obvousley missinformed a fishing licence enables you to fish all waterways stocked with coarse fish if a club leases a streach of water then you join there club but a boater can moor an there water and not have to pay to be there again freebie for the boater please dont quote rubish remarks clubs do indeed stock there waters and club costs do go up but boaters can still moor on there waters were none members can not fish so if a none member ccan not fish there water should they say boaters can not moor there unless they join their club.

  21. i think its the same in all walks of life there are people who race around in there cars and absoulutley have to take over you there are people who if you make a mistake must blow ther horn at you. then there are are people who hwve a little more pattiencce and are polite and pleasant in there way of life they slow down ,pass the time of day and enjoy life, it is quite obviuose the anglers who swear and the boaters who have no time for anglers and think they own the waterways fall into the 1st catorgarey and the people who love being on the waterways and have unfortunatly have to put up with the road hoggs who have moved onto the the water wether we be boaters cyclist or anglers or walkers must im affraid put up with it. but just remember we who love the waterways know who weve met and talked to and know that we fall into the very nice 2nd catorgary .mike phipps
  22. a fishing licence costs a mere 27 pounds lets say a fisherman goes fishing twice a week,he takes up 3 ft of the bank thats 6ft per week multiply by 52 weeks ( weather permiting ) now a 57 foot boat pays 800 pound to to cruise moors 365 days a year taking up 60ft of bank whatever the weather i would think boats albiet that they pay more, they get far better value for canal usage i wish every one would try and get on on the waterways PS. 1.5 million anglers bought licences last year a tidy sum into the coffers mike
