MPs' fears on canal funding cuts

The maintenance of 2,200 miles of Britain's rivers and canals has been put under "considerable pressure" by funding cuts, says a Commons committee. The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs committee said it was "extremely concerned" about reduced grants for British Waterways (BW) up to 2011.

Yep, there's actually been quite a lot of coverage one way or another on the EFRA report into British Waterways and funding of the landland waterways. Couple of good bits in the braodsheets too.
