The rallies alternate each year between the Fellows Morton and Clayton (FMC) boats on the one hand and the other boats with Braunston associations - Samuel Barlows, Blue Line, Nursers and the Grand Union fleet. This year it returns to the FMC boats, 29 of which attended the Rally in 2005. All surviving FMC narrowboats, ‘clothed’ or ‘converted’, have been invited to join the only surviving and recently re-restored steam narrowboat President and her butty-boat Kildare. The invitation to attend is extended to all other historic narrowboats still ‘under canvas’. These will be moored out on the mainline, thanks to the support of British Waterways. All historic narrowboats will be invited to participate in the twice-daily parades - led appropriately by President and her towed butty Kildare.
