Catnip King
I've recently bought a new boat which has a reconditioned kelvin k4 engine. Now I've been cruising along ok but i've noticed lots of white smoke and even more recently it seems to cut out when in gear and give out lots of black smoke. The engine seems to run fine not in gear and i've checked the prop is clear. The oil level is slightly over the full mark on the dipstick. I noticed a jabsco pump that had a little twisty valve on the top of it that had been leaking some oil? I've got lots to learn...

Catnip King
I've noticed one of the copper pipes going to the top of the engine where the oil caps are is blowing air... I assume this might be the cause of the bad combustion and heavy white smoke. Anyway I am going to have a mess tomorrow and hopefully get down to the problem.
