Mastervolt generator/ flat battery

Although the battery on my whisper generator is only a year old it's not holding a charge. I was told that the control/ display panel would go blank and have to be reset if it doesn't receive a charge within a week or so. Does anyone know if this is the case.

How is the battery charged?

 

My Mastervolt Whisper 6000 genny didn't have any charge facility. After use the battery which was shared with the main engine, was turned off so definately no power to the control panel which didn't seem to upset it. Maybe your model is newer but you haven't mentioned what it is.

Hi Richard

It's a mastervolt whisper 3.5 about 7 years old. I'm not too bothers about a new battery as I can jump start off my engine starter battery, so I'm happy to know your panel wasn't affected. Thanks for your reply.
