Had it serviced and a new motor fitted, since putting it back in its done about 20-30hrs in 2hr blocks This morning it shut down showing; fault 031 Combustion air blower motor Check lead to combustion air motor for continuity, replace motor if necessary. Is there likely to be anything external that would cause this or is it just down to a shoddy job done by the agent...... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

How many hours has the unit done?Air is drawn from engine compartment (engine has been dormant for about a year) its generally cool in there, heater has done 2173hrs in three and a half years, its only done 20-30 since a new motor was fitted. Hardly likely to be a "shoddy job " as you infer. They are unlikely to fit a dodgy air motor. Ebers are a bit of an enigma at times, if you are comfortable dismantling the unit yourself then it could just be a bad connection as suggested in your opening post. paddles up Posted April 22, 2016 Report Share Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Hi Julian, This fault code is commonly an indication of a wiring fault within the ECU itself rather than any problem with the blower motor. The quick and obvious solution by the 'service agent' is to replace the motor, often unnecessarily. Panic not though, a simple modification to the internal wiring will fix it rather than forking out for a new ECU too.
