james13
Hi I was wondering what size calorifier would be best suited for two people living aboard a narrowboat there seems to be so many sizes available and i want to get the right one first time
Kae
Number of people is a good start, but the size of the tank depends on what you wish to achieve. Two showers daily? Hot water for washing up daily? Two very long showers and a bath for the dog daily?
Robbo
I would say get the largest you can fit, preferably an upright one.
Pete & Helen
Don't forget to ensure it has the right number of coils for your installation. That could limit your choice. Do you want an immersion heater as well? make sure your electrics can support it (you may be limited to using it only when hooked up to shore supply.) Pete & Helen
Add extra insulation to the tank and you will be able to keep water hot for a long time. By all accounts the heat from cruising the day before will keep till the next morning for your showers. (see other topics for confirmation of this) I have a 55 ltr tank and it does me for a quick shower and the other half to have a longer one
