Stevethetrain
My waterways licence expires at the end of this month and with it the previous owners insurance. Does anyone have any recommendations? Cheers!
Grace and Favour
Iv'e used both Towergate Mardon, and Collidge & Partners, and both have been fine, although I've not needed to claim on my policies.
Guest
My waterways licence expires at the end of this month and with it the previous owners insurance. Does anyone have any recommendations? Cheers! Lots of previous stuff on this, including this recent thread. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=67917&hl=insurance I am also intrigued by the 'previous owners insurance' comment, do you mean you properly transferred their policy to you? or did you assume the policy would just transfer when you bought a boat, if so I fear you may find you haven't been insured at all..... Ange
We use Nautical insurance based in Leigh on sea - it's always great when I talk to them to get the Essex accent which I miss so much. Their premiums are competitive, but the telling point is when you need to claim, which we haven't It'd be good if people who needed to claim off their insurance posted their experiences - the buggers are quick to take our money but slow to pay it when needed in my experience. Geordie.narrowboat
My advice is stay with the current insurers unless their quote is unacceptable to you. Depending on the age of the boat a new insurer may require to see your recent survey or have one carried out. Edited to add that we use Nautical too. Ange
Just to add we've never claimed but did phone them to tell them we added solar panel to our boat - there was no extra premium and no admin fee
