PIR light

Anyone fitted a PIR light to the entrance area (eg for us, our bow well deck) of their boat? Or does the, even slight, motion on the water completely bugger up the idea and its always coming on? Or that you can't get it to not come on when people walk past on the towpath etc?

We fitted one (tenner) from b&q, works great, think they're made by a company called 'bloomer' or something. Even with 3 cats coming and going all night a set of Duracells last about four months.
