AndrewIC
Bother. My old-style Smartbank (with LED remote control panel, now discontinued) has stopped working. The lights on the remote panel still illuminate correctly, but the relay has lost it's clunk. Hopefully it's the just the relay coil and not the electronics. trackman
If it's the relay you should be able to replace it fairly readily. Merlin, who own the Smartgauge and Smartbank now will sell you the right one. When I wanted to buy a Smartbank to add to my Smartgauge so I could replace.the old diode system, I Googled the name and found some suppliers who were cheaper than buying direct from Merlin, so that might be worth you trying too. AndrewIC
Thanks, need to extract the unit and test it first, it's a bit inaccessible!
AndrewIC
Double bother. Having extracted the unit from the boat, the relay appears to be fine. Looks like a problem with the electronics
trackman
If it really is the Smartbank, you might think about a Smartbank Advance kit, including a Smartgauge. It's what we have. The Smartgauge acts as the remote control and display for the whole setup and gives the voltages on both banks and the % charge in the domestic one. This system would use the same relay you already have.
AndrewIC
Yes, that's an option, but not sure the funds will stretch to that at the moment, plus I'd have to find somewhere to put it!
