Kabola Old English

Featured Posts

I've got a Kabola Old English with a back boiler and have been very happy with it for the 4 years I've owned it. Unfortunately I'm having fuel issues at the moment, I get fuel through when its cold but it stops once the fire is up an running - usually within 5 minutes.

I've replaced the thermocouple but no joy - this seems a little weird to me. Even wedging the front lever permanently doesn't fix the issue.

Does anyone have an idea as to what I should be looking at next? Failing that, does anyone know a good Kabola Engineer in the Newbury area?

Thanks in advance :o)

Assuming the stove and the flue is properly clean, is your stove fitted with an over-boil device? My Old Dutch won't run without the Jabsco circulation pump running. Nevertheless, it's an easy job to pull it out of its housing. I've done without mine now for some years and the earlier stoves weren't fitted with them anyway. Just a thought.

If not, try the fuel filters, one in the bottom of the diesel regulator, and hopefully there's one on the line too. Often piddling little online filters are fitted and they will clog much quicker than expected. I've fitted one the same size as the fuelfilters to both the Fischer Panda generator and the Lister FR3M.

Hi James

Yep, it has an over-boil fitted, I've made sure it's pressed in.

I have an inline filter which is fine - I've not checked the filter in the diesel regulator, I didn't know it had one. I'll have a check, is it easy to remove? I can't move the stove without major surgery.

I clean the stove regularly and the flue is clear. I always start the fire with the circulation pump on too, I've found it makes the fire run poorly too.
