StoneHenge
On this probably very much depends on the boat and build, but does anyone have a fair idea of where the header tank is on a NB? Hubby doesn't know and wants to, and I don't mind playing dumb to find out. The boat is with an ISUZU engine, at the stern with the battery compartment under one of the stowages at the stern. On the right hand side just inside the doors is the hot water tank for the Eberspacher. Gas bottle and water tank at the bow. Does anyone know where I should be looking? Sorry to act completely thick here is this should be an obvious thing. I only know a little about this sort of thing (still very much the novice when it comes to engines etc). William Martin
Header tank for the engine cooling - there may not be one - they dont always need one Header tank for the cental heating - in the cupboard by the rear door - up high near the roof Edited August 31, 2006 by William Martin
StoneHenge
Thanks William. I think he meant the central heating. We have the hot water tank just inside the door in a cupboard, not sure what's below or above that. Will have a good mooch tonight.
William Martin
certainly on my boat - it does not look much like a tank - it is a rectangular plastic casing that could easily be mistaken for something electrical till you look in the top and see water. Roger Gunkel
As Martin says, in the cupboard where the hot water tank is at the highest point. Normally looks like a tupperware box with a filler cap and a pipe out of the bottom. The water in it will probably be blue as it should have anti freeze already in it. StoneHenge
Thanks chaps. We found it last night, so advice was spot on. All seems well, which is even better.
