dampness in bilges

Sorry to be thick Chris but by frames do you mean the side batons? Meaning the ventilation is to the space between your wall lining & the hull?

 

My floor panels wont come up because the lining is in the way. I could use a jigsaw with a short or broken blade to cut them out and lift them up - do you think it's worth it to check out what's down there?

the frames are the angle iron pieces that are fixed vertically to the hull sides at 2ft centres. yes, the bottom space will vent up the sides between the insulation and the inner lining.

 

if the floors are inaccessible I would leave well alone.
