Buying a Boat from a marina, has anyone ever got their deposit back?

Document everything!

 

Not original poster but thought id say... Paid deposit.  I had a survey done and the broker (broker owned boat) has agreed to remedy a number of issues found on the survey. I have paid the balance and they have said they are completing the works. I havent done a single phone call. All communication was by email so I have a paper trail should any issues arise when I go to pick it up. 

 

Would I do this for a private seller? Definitely not. But a semi reputable broker and a decent paper trail mean Id be able to easily fight any problems they might try and cause (not fixing things they have said they would etc)
