Leni
Jan went through the manifestos yesterday marking who's statements she liked/disliked etc. and then cross checked it with me. It was quite intersting that when I told her who a couple of people were, that she realised how irrelevant the short statements actually can be. One person who came near the top of her list went in the bin straight away, when I said " you do realise that is **"+"**"< don't you?" It was an interesting process and we ended up with only five positives, about whom we know, or have learnt, enough to feel we could give our full support. Funnily enough we did exactly the same (including the *** is ***) and ended up with just five positives, too. I wonder if they are the same five! RichardN
You managed to rank 19 out of 33? Impressive. We just voted for the 4 candidates that got 9/10 or higher after our first pass through. There was quite a group at 8/10 & 7/10, our thought was that a 5th preference vote is probably so low down that it won't make any difference so we stopped at 4 (call it being lazy). It is hard to generalise but most just missed out on our vote as we did not think that their day job or cruising pattern gave them the right qualification to be effective. Only 3 candidates got 0/10 in our scoring, it was nice to have a good strong field to choose from.

The 150 word statement is not much to go I agree but it is all I have. I don't know any of the candidates on the list personally. I may have an impression from posts of some folk on here but that is not the same as knowing them.
