Theft alert

Stolen from a boat last night; a solar panel, 2 gas bottles, a gangplank a chimney and a jerry can. The boat was moored at Limpley Stoke.

 

Sounds like a boater so keep your eyes peeled people. It is unlikely that he’s going to get away with it long term so a 24 hour amnesty is offered.

 

Pass it on and be careful.

Description of items? Especially the gang plank, it's rare 2 gang planks are exactly the same, will make it easyer to keep an eye out on the roof of passing boats.

My money would be on the gang plank being long since chopped into pieces and on a stove on a boat somewhere...or re-painted.

Possibly, but why nick a gang plank to burn when plenty of people have piles of nice, seasoned logs on their roof?

Apparently an angle grinder was used to remove the panels and flue whether 18v is not known, near the road so possibly a boater, possibly not.

A friend of mine had some items stolen which he then spotted on another boat which had just been bought. It seems to be a cheap way of making a boat look nice for sale.

Now is the time of year when there is an increase in users of the canal. Unfortunatly this means that there might be more un-desirables about. There were certainly lots of people at Warleigh weir this weekend, and I know that some of them got bored of walking home and borrowed bikes.

 

Keep vigilant.

Also, an Avoncliff boat was broken into mid last week. Possibly for shelter as to my understanding, nothing was taken.
