12v wiring

I am using 8mm cable for some of the long cable runs to allow for voltage drop. Do I need to use the same thickness all the way through, even for the short runs through the fuses etc (no more than 800mm) or can I use the 4mm.

The best thing is to post the cable length (there and back) and the current in amps or watts of the appliance, I or several others will give you an instant recommended wire size and volt drop figure.

You can use thiner cable, but the fuse has to be rated at the rating of the thinest cable.

- So if its 8mm all the way, bar the last 2ft of 4mm, you still have to fuse it at the rating of the 4mm
