Winding north at the junction with the Slough Arm and 200m south

 

I've been told from a fairly good source that the canal is not going to be fully closed, but restricted. Waits of 1 hour may be nessesary (or even more perhaps), but it will be possible to pass during the stoppage.

 

Call the local office (London) for more information, or the national help line should be able to pass you on to someone who knows.

This stoppage has not started yet.... I was told that it has been delayed for one or two weeks due to the weather. The canal is still open at the present time with no signs of B.W. even attempting to do anything. Unless they have sent down some contractors that are charging them extreme amounts of money for a months work that will only actually take them two days to complete and they have decided that it is to cold to work so they will leave it until the weather gets a little warmer.
