A bit more info would help eg model of engine.

 

If it is one of the more modern lister/petter engines as in the canalstar range there should be a brass tap-like attachment on the engine. This is a pump that is attached to the sump drain and when you open the valve you can pump the engine oil out into a container.

 

Again if it is a moder Lister then the oil filter is a modern spin on cartridge. It will be a matter of unscrewing (you may need a special tool to do that but cheep and easily available) and then screwing the new one on before filling the engine with oil again.
