Is there room for doubling numbers? Arent some of the canals already overstretched in terms of demand?

While pricing others off the cut. Doesn't add up!

They probably meant to say 'doubling the income from the water users'!

They want to double the number of visitors to the waterways - not the number of boaters. In other words, lots of new sightseers, walkers, cyclists etc.

 

But surely a lot of walkers go to the canal to see boats. Price the boaters off the water and there is no point in going there.
