Max Sinclair
Those of us who remember the IWA Midland Branch monthly meetings at the Midland Institute, Birmingham, will remember with affection and some delight the attendance of the Skinners at various Canal talks. The speaker would be in full flow on some waterway topic when Roses high pitched voice would assure us the picture or the information were incorrect, amd then proceed to give a correction. I was only glad when I talked about the Droitwich Canals the Skinners had never worked them. They were heady days under David Hutchings guidance. At our very first 1958 meeting Jocelyn and I won a Ron Hough painted watercan in the raffle which added to our enjoyement of meetings.
