Hi, just to put in my 1.5d's worth, as a bus driver I have the same problem with low bridges at work. The method I use is just to close my eyes and "use the Force" It often works. But when it does not, all I have done is convert a nice double decker bus to a single decker!!!

 

Seriously though, do not take my advice. I am still waiting to buy a boat!!!
