i bought the leds from bedazzled,saw him last year at crick.just tried 2 in the bathroom at first they give a yellowish light and are brill so i bought more for the whole boat.i have 2 sets of 4 in the galley/saloon really nice and some wall mounted reading lamps.i may not know much but these are good.

hi,just back from working on the boat,i go after work for a couple of hours and most sat/suns. i just want to do 1 boat so from the start wanted it so in later life i could use it as a second home with most essentials (have not sorted the area to keep the lammy yet).i will read all comments later,thanks all.

well, hi folks,todays daft question is ! how big a battery bank do i need ?i have a 12/3000/120 inverter, on 12v is a fridge,a freezer,macerator toilet,pumps for bath,shower,fresh water.led lighting (low consumption).240v is microwave,washer,tv/dvd,kettle.how do i work it out ?i have been told 800Ah.has anyone a similar set up and what have you got?also what size generator?all help appreciated.

Hi all,we are kitting out our widebeam.it is 57x12.will an aldi 3010 be big enough for the central heating,and how do we size the radiators.has anyone used a 3010 on a similar sized boat.any info will be appreciated.

ok ,our boat is 57 x 12. we have problems going through narrow gaps,me moving from side to side whilst steering, looking down the sides stressed out then usually "bang".has anyone fitted cameras with a screen to aid this problem ?i tried two maplins,not much help,looked at truck reversing system.any help would be appreciated.even tried a sort of gun sight set up but the middle of a bridge isnt always the middle of the gap.

well we went and it was ok , the queue in to park awful, and no sing song on the coach from the car to show. aren't led's brill ? and was that a big boat in the corner !!! saw lots of strange people (must be caravaners) .

we have the boat ,but lining out is poorly done and not finished. is it me or is Mr Bates not making sense.just sussed it Mr Baites is JACK SPARROW.

we looked at different builders , went on recommendations , chose a local company , paid in stages , visited to check progress , the builder S,T,S. of Liverpool ,went bust ! boat not finished , sounds too familiar .

Hi,i am , like MATRIX , ready to spend my hard eaned on an electrical system. i will have 12volt fridge and freezer , pumps and lighting (led) . 240volt , tv , saniflo, microwave , If i fit the victron 12-3000-120.what else do i need ? is there a link to show me?how many batteries ?a simple diagram?

my friend Benno had his fishing rods taken by a speeding boat who he yelled after with no result! knowing the canal he left his boat jumped in his car and got ahead of said speeder at a bridge and gave him the contents of his cassette.

i have in the past installed gas central heating at home.but what do i use on our new boat gas or oil ? and why.i saw the alde gas/elec unit but do they use too much gas ?

why should i not use house bricks for ballast , is there a reason or are they just not as heavy as concrete.

Hi, we are looking at boats, we live in Maghull on the Leeds / Liverpool canal. We would like a broad beam 10ft x 61ft.I have a map showing the broad canals but will i have problems with any locks?Is there a list of lock sizes i have been told some are only 58ft long.hope you can help us.
