Yes, hs2 own all of it I believe in the middle between Darnford and the cruising club including the lock and house. I believe that this will be sold back to the canal at the right time. It’ll be a great day when it’s all open!

With the RCHS AGM which was held in Lichfield in 1998 we visited Darnford Lane when the lift bridge was a relative new addition. The length of time to get navigations restored demands great dedication.

Not a great deal happened in the 25 years following that, then suddenly 2 years and it’s all in water. Money and organisation is what’s needed and HS2 and a few other partners made this happen. 
 

one good thing for canal restoration is more firms are trying to offset their impact By supporting green projects, canals can benefit from this
