A two-hour, real-time canal boat journey down one of Britain's most historic waterways, the Kennet and Avon Canal, from Top Lock in Bath to the Dundas Aqueduct. Using an uninterrupted single shot, the film is a rich and absorbing antidote to the frenetic pace and white noise of modern life. Taking in the images and sounds of the British countryside, underpinned by the natural soundscape of water lapping, surrounding birdsong and the noise of the chugging engine, this is a chance to spot wildlife and glimpse life on the towpath while being lulled by the comforting rhythm of a bygone era. Along the journey, graphics and archive stills embedded into the passing landscape deliver salient facts about the canal and its social history. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05t7kc1 === Best BBC t.v. prog. for years. Hello, We are a group of University students in Bath and we are conducting some research regarding the waterways and associated green public space in Bath. To do this we were hoping to get in touch with people who live along the Avon in Bath! We are particularly interested in the proportion of permanent boater residents, the type of communities, and other rules and regulations around the area. In addition, we have a questionnaire if you do live in the area! (I have attached it to the link below) Please send your responses to greenequityvip@groups.bath.ac.uk Thank you ever so much and hope you get in touch! Hello all Just seeing if anyone knows what happened to this boat: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/ebay-member-lists-beloved-canal-8186266 . I know the story got a bit of attention on these boards. We owned her for about 10 years, selling her on around 8/9 years ago. We were very sad to see the story; immediately recognising her from the reg. Would be lovely to know what the new owner now plans to do with her .
