  1. Sorry, yes i did mean the linings for the steel side doors. The current linings appear to be just painted ply which look poor. The cabin interior is pirahna pine tongue and groove so any suggestions would be helpful
  2. Just to add even more confusion to this subject have you considered the latest alternator to battery charger from Sterling?
  3. Has anyone got any ideas/plans for making and fitting new door linings. On my survey i was advised to replace some of these and during the winter this is one of the many jobs i would like to have a go at. cheers Steve
  4. Has anyone got good or bad experiences with? Adverc Sterling Kestrel 90 Ampower's own
  5. Thanks for the advice Paul, Strangely when i visited the boat the next day the boiler ignited first time and repeated this several times during the holiday period. So i will keep my fingers crossed that I don't have any further problems.
  6. Hi Guys, I am still relatively new to to boating and i am seeking some advice for my Alde boiler. This boiler was fitted to the boat 14 years ago. Only two weeks ago everything was all ok, today tried for two hours to light the boiler with no success. The piezo only lights probably once in ten attempts. I hve tried switching gas bottles but cooker all works ok. I have found that gas is getting to the boiler, has anybody got ant ideas? Boiler was serviced last year and i would guess we have only used it five times since then. cheers, Steve
  7. Hi guys, I have now had my ex weltonfield boat (1990) for approx 1 year. It was built with twin mansfields and obviously two holding tanks. the tanks (plastic) do not have inspection plates which i am considering adding. I know there was a long running thread " Breath of Satan" on the previous Canal forum site but my questions are is there any chemical (acetic acid?) or disinfectant (jeyes) that anybody has used to clean/sterilise the tank? Does anybody use the bilge blower idea in the vent line and is anybody using yeast as suggested by Leesan? thanks for your help
