  1. I know this is an old thread but I am a new person here... I have to agree with the posts about safety. I feel far safer on my boat and walking to my boat, and watching my dog do her last wee of the night whatever time it is out of my boat than I ever would in an urban street. Who would come down here to hurt me? Why would they? Enjoy the stars, nowhere I have ever been shows them more attractively than standing outside my boat on a cold bright night. And congratulations. 2. I am fascinated by all this talk of computer fans in various parts of the boat. I know very little about them but if they work to remove steam from the bathroom they have my vote. I will look into them when I am feeling up to understanding something new!
  3. Thank you all so much. I am delighted that such helpful people have come to my rescue so quickly. I hope I can return the favour at some point. I will be in touch when I have explored further.
  4. Thank you so much for your reply. I don't think it is the hull, she was out of the water for a survey three years ago and all was very sound on that front. She is due out again any moment but will have to wait until spring for a bottom blacking. I am going to mop again and take everything out from under the sink in the galley to see if I can see anything leaking. I guess that if it is before the pump any leak would not cause the pump to kick in would it? Thank you for your offer of help, I may just say yes if I cannot find it. Yes, the tank will be full now, I am going to pump out at the weekend all being well.
  5. I used to work in a pub and we all did this every Christmas to have a warm drink with a bit of a kick in it. I am going to do it again this year now that I have been reminded of the idea again... cheers.
  6. The boat is ten years old. Under my bed there is an inspection hatch, the boat is listing so I investigated. There is no water in the engine bilges to speak of, I have have just had new stern gear so I hope not! I mopped it out a while ago thinking it was.. well, I don't know what I thought really. But it is there again. I have looked under the inspection hatch at the back of the boat, under the step, dry as a bone. I am not sinking, and even if I am the K and A is always so shallow I would only get a toe wet (feels a rant coming on so shuts up) Thanks for quick replies folks, I am at work and sneaking looks at the site. And thanks for the welcome, Jo.
  7. Hello, my very first post and it is asking for help. I have water under the floor of my boat. I cannot tell where it is coming from, the water pump does not make any unexpected noises so it is not dripping anywhere. My bed is midships. The back of the boat and the front of the boat seem dry underneath. Suggestions. Oh and Hello, nice to be here.
