  9. Try not to 'bump into' anyone too hard.... and smile a glorious smile if you near miss. That will keep you in good books. WW

  11. Do you think it is the bad weather, the ice, the cabin fever, the looking towards spring which still seems a long way off or just pure cussedness that is making so many people so cross on here???

  13. I have bags on the little jetty by my boat, a half sized dustbin with lid safe and dry under the cratch cover which holds just a bit more than a bag and nice big coal scuttle in the boat. That means that there is always a rotation of possibly wet coal to dry in the bin and then to dry further in the scuttle. I had three bags on the roof for months last summer and eventually they were blown, pecked and generally wind damaged and the coal made a bid for freedom as I went up Caen Hill. I captured much of it but lost a fair bit one way and another. Lesson learned. I had a bag stolen one very cold night; I would sooner give it to someone needy than have it stolen. Ah well. But generally the coal is safe and dry. The bin was bought from one of those cheapy shops that sells everything and it has been a real godsend. I tip it forwards while stading down in the boat and shovel it out, saves my back and keeps everywhere reasonably clean too!

  15. That post did not point to any lack of education, twas a good read of someone's view based on their experiences. I may PM if that is ok. I have been living aboard for a while but am now free to do it my way... with that comes trials as well as treats !! WW
