  1. is this what you have been looking at http://www.tanks-direct.co.uk/flat_water_tanks
  2. the web address you state does not work could you provide a link or the company name so we can have a look. as to the coment vetus dont go any bigger as they cant be retro fitted and also you can link small tanks to get bigger volume.
  3. any idear on cost 1000l tank materials only
  4. is that the masculin or femin form (has anyone seen my tin hat)
  5. removes tongue from cheek whats a OH ( should i take a ladder with me into this hole or a shovel to dig deeper)
  6. its what piperboats spec for there water tanks. i could not find anything eather. i think its some sort of 2 pack system!
  7. thats sort of my point more seem to go port to and i am intrested in what afects that desision so far we have 1 for engin control 2 for doors
  8. so that has exposed my inland waters ignorance thanks (so which side do you favor in the marina senario) phylis my humble apoliges i thoght people did not use real names as handles thought it might be boat name (i should know better as im named after a phylis)
  9. can any one say how long a steel water tank with a epcol lining will last from new. how oftern does it need repainting. asume a livabord usage would a stainless be better value over time?
  10. so for you the boat layout is the deciding factor and for phylis he is the smart car of the waterways but with one door can any one answer my col regs question?
  11. not realy i am not seking advice as to what i should do. i am asking what you all do and why because it is an observation of mine that the inland water ways work aposed to the col regs why is the toe path on the wrong side as far as col reg go? i turn my boat round to starbord to if i want to run my gen as it exausts to port. my new boat will be much more semetric so thats what got me thinking about the subject it wont mater which side i go. and i have most of my boating experance on the tidal system.
  12. may be my background is getting in the way. sorry to confuse. moring facing up streem still gives choice of port or starbord. lets asume there is a choice lets pretend then you have turned of the waterway into a marina loads or space plenty of room to turn etc no wind for your stay no external reason to influance choice. now! which port or starbord and why. as to locks its a big double lock (not nb waters) most people seem to go port to when the lock is empty and they have a choice this would meen as you aproch lock move to pass out going trafic port to port then moor port to then leave lock moveing over to pass incoming trafic port to port. or does no one bother with col regs my sailing boat has the helm on the port side so we more port to as my vis and acces is better for docking.
  13. ok so in a chanel we are suposed to pass port to port. this makes for boats to travel on the starbord side of the channel. but as the name infers most seem to moor port to. as we no longer have a stering board to make this a nesesaty. from my experance locks seem to operate opposit to this i wonder if its the influance of our roads perhaps those with experance of eu waters can coment. so what is your preferance and why.
  14. try reading some of the stuff on hear http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/smartgauge.html its a sell out product
  15. have found this looks spot on? http://www.sparksdirect.co.uk/columbus-pne...vo33ek040hf3bq7
  16. so it looks like we have a working design it will be next spring befor any chance of a test but i hope to be runing a building blog.

  18. arnt most of them designed to run under water for cooling i thought this might work http://www.acs-solarsystems.com/Solar_Pumps.htm that switch is an eligant idear will it run on 12v?
  19. i think using relay and simple switch is a good idear i was thinking something from maplins small an descreat. my pipe run will be a loop to pass all taps etc with a short 0.5m or less branch of to each tap so when pump it used it charges the hole system with hot for the electrical minded how simple would it be to use a adjustable timed switch ie: press once to start a timed run say 20seconds then system resets till next time? also any recomendations for the pump?
  20. this would be a prob as you would need longer to get the bucket etc full also the surface area to volune of water is greater so the water cools faster on rute. some great discusion since i last loged on thanks every one. to date for the options i have avalable to me concidering personal secomstances i think a loop with cerculating pump and nonretern valve. any other options for the switchig?
  21. i think this would need much more plumbing and a valve on every tap and plumb back from every tap to befor the presure pump on the cold feed? is this what you have in mind i am a little confused.
  22. i forgot to point out that you would need to do some plumbing at the other end but it would save runing pipes full length take one of the hot feeds and conect betwen water pump and cold feed to hot tank with non retern valve, and as said join ends together at far end of boat now pump as i have segesed with a press and hold switch on pump. hope i have maid sence
  23. did i mention the twin tub, combi microwave oven,tv,pc,electric windlas and bow thruster
