  1. Yea that would be great if you could send me a pulley i will send you a PM. Many thanks to all of you again for your help. I am going to get hold of a new 13mm belt and a new pully and hopefully that will sort out all my problems. Have a good weekend everyone.
  2. Thank you everyone for your help and comments so far I have taken a few more pics this morning. I am starting to think that like some of you have said it is the wrong size alternator which is eating my belts! As you can see in the pic the pulley is very deep, alot deeper than a new belt. (pic is shown with old worn belt) Belt spray! The belt that beta marine sent me.
  3. Thanks alot Roger i will have a good look tonight and get back to you.
  4. Woops sorry about that Yea everything seems to be lined up. I have to keep tightening the belt because as it wears down otherwise it will start to slip and squeak.
  5. I am pretty sure they are poly vee. I got them from beta marine who advised me it would be the right one. As you can see in the photo the bottom belt is brand new and the top is after about 8 hours use.
  6. Hi everyone, My engine bay on my boat does not have any venting so i am going to be cutting a hole and fitting a vent on the side of the control piller so the engine heat can escape a bit. Would it be possible to fit a small fan inside of the engine bay also to help with air flow? Is this a done thing or are there other ways around this? I should also point out the main reason i am wanting to do this is that my engine (kubota three cylinder) seems to be eating belts very quickly and i believe this is due to belt getting to hot and then i end up with lots of belt spray. Thanks Jimmy
  7. Haha no i haven't seen the price but i see where are going with this. Better get cutting
  8. Well yes there is paint and sand, but i was just looking at the grip tape stuff as another option. Just found some on this page http://www.watco.co.uk/asp/autopage.asp?st...L&Group=ASP (ROLL) OR http://www.watco.co.uk/asp/autopage.asp?stkGroup=SS (SHEET) Not going to be cheap to do tho.
  9. Thats what i will do save some money
  10. Yea i had a feeling it was going to be expensive
  11. Hi guys, I have seen on some boats this anit slip grip tape stuff (like on skateboards). Mostly used on roofs buy the looks of it. I have had a look about but only seem to be able to find small rolls and narrow widths of it. Where can i get this from? Many thanks Jimmy
  12. Thanks very much for the help. I will be mooring up on the left side on the backside of one of the houses so security is not really a issue. Thanks again.
  13. Hi there, My boat is currently on the river Thames and i am going to be heading down the river Kennet and mooring up just after county lock (106). My question is where abouts does the river Kennet end and the canal begin as i need to know whether i need to buy a Kennet and Avon canal licence? My boat only has a river licence at the moment. I have made some phone calls to the river environment agency and the british waterways but i have so say both are proving to be unhelpful. If someone could help me out i would be most grateful. Jimmy
  14. I have worked as a cabinet maker and always got mdf / ply from these guys. They will have what you need. http://www.laver.co.uk Davids idea of sticking to sheets with contact adhesive is a good idea also. Love it or hate it MDF is a good product in my eyes.
  15. Rick has got it stop on. Holesaw all the way. I have cut ALOT of holes in metal this way. I would say tho only really do this if you are going to be using a good drill like makita or dewalt. You should get about 10 maybe 15 holes before your holesaw really starts getting blunt. Jimmy
