Look at it from the other side of the coin. I am fed up cruising mile after mille past boats moored100 yards apart. Sorry but I don't slow down for you. Then there is the 'popular' spot. Share the rings, Share the bollards. I shouldn't have to ask you to move. Be considerate.

Has the boat that had errm.... "broken down" on the Castle Gardens moorings last June moved on yet?
Leicester was good, well worth the trip from Foxton. As others have said it's good further north too.
He was moved off in October
Point to note the Abbey Park Road bridge water depth going north is inches on the right hand side! Keep Left

Use S/S screws instead of brass because as they will be subject to moisture you will lose the zinc in the brass and eventually be left with copper screws.
Phil
But that would also apply to the bracket surely?

Culling Deer and chasing 'imaginary' foxes are two totally different things. Although both need controlling to keep a balanced countryside.
I didn't realise the was a problem with imaginary foxes.

Agreed, if you never go anywhere they're gonna last an awfully long time.
Oh come on I only changed my rear fender coz someone bought me a nice new one.
The old one is still doing service on Mort's boat.
My front fender is still the original one, nearly ten years and you know I move a lot.

Lol I'm busy mooring 6ft from the bank on the K&A at the mo!
Only six feet? You must be in a deep bit!
-
You should have come up Monday afternoon it would have taken you until Friday to pass.

Nothing! Either way the Red boards are up but just pointless coming to Isis Lock because you cant access the River.
Not to mention the river is up about three feet at Isis so will be difficult getting under the rail bridge. Osney Bridge will be no picnic.

Rape is taught from an early age in Islam. Germany's soultion is to train girls to shoot the perps.

Could be to do with the size of steel sheets. I was told it would be easier to leave the sheet 2 foot longer at 60 feet rather than cut it.

It's a shame really that it has been f****d it up. The ACC was a very important organisation. It will never have the impetus that it had in the first year and certainly CRT will never again listen to its members. RIP!
-
Does anyone know when "last" January's elections are going to be? Or has the ACC been washed away in a breech.

Take a two week holiday in the depths of winter on a boat. Then think long and hard. Then go for it.

Hi there. I started fishing a few months ago. I mainly fish in canals and was wondering if any of the fish I catch are any good for eating? I've heard pike is good.
Most of the fish belong to someone, more especially not you. Some areas are so fed up of people poaching their fish stocks there are signs to report removal of fish to 999 theft in progress

"Extreme bow" is that in front of the normal bow?

The flaw is in the cell count. An alkaline cells produces 1.2 volts, Converting a 6 cell Lead acid case you could only get 7.2 volts. Where are the other 5 volts coming from?

It reads like a load of tosh from the very first sentence. All very amusing except these articles simply add fuel to a difficult situation.
The most ridiculous bit? The cost estimates, eg. "Fuel, maintenance and pumping out: £100-£200 a year"
Its horrendous!

Yep, Another livaboard for approaching 30 years, got to say, I like to have a clean clear roof as well, Although I have got roof boxes, So I guess im actually in both camps !

If you have roof boxes you have stuff on your roof so you are only in one camp.
-
There's nothing worse than having crap all Over the roof it's so un-sightly. I've lived aboard for 17 odd years and never had any thing except for a ladder and a plank on the roof.
Darren
So where do you keep your bicycle and your dingy and a half ton of coal and your garden chairs and Sunberella and life ring and ash bucket and fire wood and BBQ0 and flowers and .....and ......and .....stuff.

Then we need to fight back and tell these onanists where to get off.
Don't roll over and give in to the bastards!
One should always moor opposite the houses at Ansty if only because there are about 8 signs telling you not to. Two would have been sufficient, one at each end. Sorry but old canal - new houses = feck off!

I'm hearing some horror stories already about the new constant cruising enforcement. What I will be doing in the future will be getting a written record of whether my movements are acceptable, if I have to overstay for any reason I will get permission, and their opinion on how far i need to travel to satisfy CRT. So I know exactly where I stand. Everything will be copied and filed away just in case.
I would encourage every other CC'er to cover themselves by emailing their enforcement officer if they are in any doubt.
The decision to stay is down to the boat's master not CRT. Inform CRT by all means to be polite but don't ask them if it is OK its your decision not theirs! If CRT get in a huff all you have to do is convince a judge that you had good reason.

Canada geese in York are regarded as a menace by residents, and cute by visitors. CYC (City of York council) have tried over the years to discourage them, contraceptives, egg oiling, or pin holing. This year it's worse than ever, and is turning into a nightmare, as these geese are becoming permanent residents. I know other types of control are being considered in private committee stages. The recent elections seem to have spiked the timetable for consideration.
How does a goose put a condom on?

7/8" isn't 0.940"!!!! So its not going to fit. Have a look at these tables, you'd need to know the thread pitch too.
Quite amazing that Paul I thought it was wrong but the digital vernier said 24 mm and pressing the inch button it read .940 which is closer to 15/16th I think.. Ever since I changed the power cell in the DV it has played sillies.

In all fairness the boat was in a lock (Varney's) in reverse.
