We are booked for a week in October too....with Aqua Narrowboats. Really looking forward to it! Take plenty of whisky, rum etc to keep you warm....we are!

What did the police do/say/advise?

Definately a good torch and spare batteries, some playing cards, dominoes or crosswords (try to give the TV a miss for the week - it's good for the soul not to know what's going on in the outside world for a week). The Nicholson guides are very good (have a look on Tesco.com - got mine dirt cheap on there) A pair of Crocs or similar ( good for slipping on and off quickly to go in and out of the boat, and they have a good grip on the soles) A wide brimmed hat ( don't want sunstroke whilst out of the stern all day) Have a good time!

We were just making our way back from the finish line when we saw you coming in (don't know if you saw me - I was taking photos of you, wearing denim shorts, blue top, blue walking boots, black hair) We didn't stop because OH had hurt his foot - think it's broken - so he was in a fair amount of pain and wanted to get home to rest it and get some cold beer pain relief! Glad you had a good time, though. We are planning to come to the next Friday night social in Brum. (Is it last Friday of the month? which pub is it in?)

Where were you all? We saw Team Black Beauty - took some pics of you as your neared your triumphant finish! We also saw Tilbrook - took some pics of her too. (I'm sure Neil, of Tilbrook, posts on here) Was very disappointed not to have seen Tawny Owl, Fulbrook or the Cat who walks by himself.....what happened to you all?

Was it you who fished out YSL for Rose?

You blokes...it's always about size! So......if I'm only going to buy one to take with me on my canal walks to help where I can....what's my best bet then?
