Well that is bloody typical of Sandwell Council !! It looks like you can take things into your own hands as long as it's 'Minor' and you can do as you please. What a let down.

I agree on your first point, but at the end of the day no one is above the law. And in response to your second comment, These are not the only two Holloway's left in this family. Joe Holloway had 3 sons and 3 grandsons, John Holloway had a son and 5 grandsons. Please be assured the name would not be lost. I'm sure the two owners of the yard wouldn't give a damn for your loss.

How do you know they have applied for retrospective planning permission ? I can't seem to see it on the Council's website. It would be weak of the Council to grant permission with a view to create employment. The haulage business in general has been hit really hard lately, there is just no work. Holloway's have apparently had to lay off drivers so I don't think this would be grounds for granting permission. We will have to wait and see what happens. Glad people are still keeping an eye on things.

No neither do I, I have made some enquiries though, It now in the hands of the Planning Dept at Sandwell Council. I have checked the website for planning applications received. To date it does not look like Holloways have applied for permission. I hope they are landed with a huge fine and ordered to remove the rubble from the basin There is a rumour going round that the business is really struggling at the moment, so hopefully they might be gone sooner than you think !!

The business of Joseph Holloway is now owned by two of the younger generation. They have no respect for heritage or history. Sadly the best of the Holloways 'Joe' passed away in June this year. A very well liked and respected person. When Joe passed away it was the end of era - Holloway's will never be the same again.

WE ALL NEED TO PULL TOGETHER ON THIS ONE. I AM SURE EVERYONE FEELS THE SAME WAY ABOUT THIS OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOUR.
