  1. There are ways of filtering out ads. It depends on which device or browser you are using. The easiest is to download the 'Brave Browser' this is based on Google Chrome, but is a lot more secure and blocks YT adds and a lot of cookies (that share info about your browsing habits). It completely changes the YT experience.
  2. When you upload a video, you are supposed to declare if it features a promotion. At the start of the video it will state that it 'Contains promoted material'. If you feel it is fraudulent you can report it. However this will usually be ignored 🙁
  3. Sadly it seems to involve boobs. If you look at a lot of the big hitters they feature thumbnails with scantily clad females.... it would appear a large percentage of YT viewers are teenage males. My wife who has a Gravel Cycling chanel calls it 'Tits for Hits'. However hidden amongst the dross, are some great gems. As I am at the start of fitting out a boat it is a great resource.
  4. It's about giving something back (and the good thing is it costs nothing). Whilst there are many reasons to be cynical about YouTube, some people take a lot time and effort to produce content. Like everything there is good and bad. As someone that is in the process of fitting out a boat, I have learnt a lot from videos. Martin
  5. Here you go.... Google is a magical thing LOL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Painted_Boats
  6. BEngo / Alan De Enfield Thank you all for your help. That has made things much clearer. Regards Martin
  7. I am about to buy at 57' Sailaway, but it is second hand. Someone bought it, but because of health issues could not collect it. So it is still at the original builders. I know this is all legit because I have talked personally to the builders, who are happy that the boat is now going to be sold. So my question is: When I have paid for it, how do I prove it is mine? I have a dated receipt for the deposit, so when I finish the deal I will pay the final agreed price. How do I make this all legitimate? Thanks Martin
  8. On the subject of the Origo stove, these also run on Bioethanol and in France you can buy alcool à brûler (wood alchohol), very cheaply. If you buy in bulk Bioethanol is around £3 a Ltr. Whilst the original Dometic Origo 3000 (double burner) has been discontinued, you can get Compass24's version. I use one in my campervan and am seriously considering one for my narrowboat. Then bake and grill in an airfryer. Just a thought. Martin
