I wonder if anyone can throw any light on the history of this lovely mirror. I’ve asked around and some have suggested it’s not very old and possibly similar to the ‘Southern Comfort’ reproductions, it looks much older with marks on the silvering, this is a very limited market and surely there would be more around? I spotted it over 30 years ago in car dealers workshop, he knew nothing of it. The frame is new. It’s approx 19 x 28”.

Thanks for replies. The gearbox has always been a bit noisy in reverse but has now noisy in forward. Looking from the stern the flywheel is at the front of the engine and runs anti clockwise the prop is right handed. Photo attached

Yes. Plenty of oil in the reduction box and oil from the engine goes into the other box and there’s plenty thrown around.

Viewed from astern the flywheel (which is at the front of the engine) runs anti-clockwise and it has a RH prop, what does this mean? Until recently astern was much noisier now little difference.

It sounds like it might a bearing, got noisier now.

Can anyone help me identify this gearbox please as I have a problem? This is on a 2VSH.
