So it's same old same old.............

I have worked for the same company for almost 20 years.

My other half works so hard he's so knackered when he gets home.
We do have a 'bolt hole' for every other weekend, it's along side a lake and we love water.

Since being a child I have loved boats and being near water.

Turning 50, yes 50 it's time to start to change things in my life so this is my journey about dreaming and hopefully turning that dream in to a reality of buying a narrow boat and living on it.

Where do you start, well buy a book, check out forums and the tinterweb.

So far I have realised that to travel all over (well almost) you need a boat 6ft 10 and no longer than 58 ft 60ft if you are a good steerer.
(always feel free to correct me if I am wrong)

The reading the books Nicholsons Guide and the RBOA I soon find out NOT to just buy a boat when I fall in love but to find that elusive mooring first. I realise I must be cautious life is not all roses and castles.

There is all sorts going through my mind should I continue to work and sell my house and find residential moorings close to work, have I enough money to give it all up and go cc'ing, indeed have we both got the balls to do this.

I have to sell my house in Turkey first and like here the market is fairly flat. This was supposed to be the retirement fund but it's not turning out that way.

The mother in law has dementia and our closest relative is waiting for a diagnosis we think he has cancer of the bladder, are these time to set sail so to speak? or do these times make me realise time is precious?
