  1. My current flue is twin wall and longer than most as it goes up through the pram cover on the back deck. Is this enough.
  2. Hi, I am interested in hearing peoples personal experiences of the diesel Bubble stove especially if you have one with the oven on the top of the unit. Is ther eanything comparable too?
  3. Problem solved the back boiler is leaking. So mew one needed. Nothing lasts forever!
  4. Best way to systematically find the leak?
  5. Always add water and a Fernox product We do this because we thought water might be evaporating
  6. Our systems are joint (that is how the boat builder fitted the system)and the back boiler is pumped. Yes we can fully vent the back boier the vent goes up from the back of the boiler. Hope this helps
  7. We have a Squirrel Morso stove with a back boiler. We also have an Eberspacher. Our system has underfloor heating in the bathroom, 3 radiators and a heated towel rail. Our issue is that despite bleeding the system from a high point repeatedly there is still the sound of water trickling sound coming from behind the fire where the back boiler is. We are at a loss. We bleed it and it stops for a short time and then it starts again however now it's just not going away now. There does not appear to be leakage from the Eberspacher all the radiators have been bled and the heat is right at the very top of the radiators. We have both 12v and 240v heating pumps and are using the 240v pump currently. Any ideas would be much appreciated as it's driving us crazy. Thank you
  8. Hi Thinking of spending a few days around Thorne/Pollington and possibly further towards Castleford. Are there any cycle paths and what are the tow paths like please in this area. Looked on various cycling sites and not found anything of note so thinking cycling round there might not be good. Thank you in advance.
  9. Thank you, want to explore more as we both work near the mooring and there are no other moorings for miles making the daily commute onerous. Our friends came in to their mooring with their bow thruster with no issue grrrr.
  10. We have had Wesley thermal break windows for about 3 years now, bloody brilliant!!!
  11. Our mooring is extremely difficult to get into, plus on a couple of occasions the wind has caused us significant damage to the boat. Yesterday trying to get in to our mooring frankly was such a nightmare we are considering moving it was that bad! When the boat was built we did not have a bow thruster fitted but are now thinking is could be possible, what would be involved and how much would it be? What needs to be considered? I would welcome any advice you can offer.
  12. Sorry for delay in responding but we have been out on the boat with very little coverage. We spent a good while eventually pushing water through the system and bleeding it out and after a few days doing this it is so quiet. Strange not to hear the trickling sound now!
  13. Hi, Our chimney goes through our canvas, we have a double walled chimney so no heat transference, we have never had any spark damage and hope that helps.
  14. Driving us crazy. Lived on our boat now for about 6 years, we have a Squirrel Morso Stove with a back boiler. The fire heats 3 small radiators and they are hot right to the top of them. We also have an Eberscpacher. Everything has always worked fine. We noticed a slight trickling sound coming from the fire area a few weeks ago, at first it was when the Eberspacher was on but now it is when the fire is on and the heating pump is on too. It seems to be getting louder. (Might be ‘cos it is driving us mad) We have bled the system, drained water off, ensured it is topped up but no the trickling is still there. We feel it is coming from the fire/back boiler area. I feel sure this is a problem some of you will have had and would truly welcome any advice you can offer.
  15. Thank you, I do want chrome to match everything else but if I cannot source them who knows.
  16. Hi, I have LED lighting which is all good but for the fact that the chrome around the ones in the bathroom is showing signs of wear due to steam. Can these be replaced without buying a whole unit and can anyone suggest a good retailers for either these or a full light? Many thanks
  17. Oh planning this in Sept time. A friend has advised us to just turn up at a marina and see what they have to rent and we might get the boat at a better price.
  18. We are going to get the ferry to Dublin. We want to go to Newgrange then on to Belfast and over to the Northern Irish coast, Game of Thrones territory, Giants causeway with the motor home, possibly some wild camping. Then hire a boat around the Shannon for a week. We eventually like to get our boat over there but here living on your boat is frowned on and not allowed. Want to hire a nice boat at the best price possible. Where are you based?
  19. We want to take our motor home over to Ireland for a week and add another week hiring a boat on the canals in Ireland. Recent advice and recommendations would be very welcome. We live on a wide beam currently and want to take this over there at some point for a couple of years so want to get as much info as we possibly can. We are open as to where we cruise for the holiday and look forward to your suggestions. Thank you
  20. The water comes in to the loo from our water tank and it is cassette based. We want the same loo so fittings are the same and there is no damage to our woodwork changing anything. Regards
  21. Hi, I need to totally replace my Dometic CTS3110 loo. Is anyone aware of any offers or discounts? I think the direct replacement would be a Dometic CTS 4110 I think they are around £400 so need your local knowledge to try to get the best price possible. Thank you in advance for your help.
  22. We have ordered double glazed units for our boat. The current windows are 5 years old early next year and in very good order. Thye were made by Wesley Windows of Newark. There are 5 sliding windows and 4 x 18 in portholes these are split with a hopper. There are also 2 bulkhead windows for the front doors. We are expecting a staggered delivery in January/ February time. If you know anyone who is planning ahead and may be interested please let me know. Many thanks
  23. Well decision made. Wesley Windows with a thermal break. We need to remove one of our windows to look at the fixings and see how much routing out will have to be done. Wesley have given us samples of the extrusions so we can gauge this. We intend to fit these ourselves with a little help from our friends. Boat builder says it should be a straight forward job. We will see.
