  1. Sorry, just keep the "dreamer's" with the wide boat's down South, nothing against real boater's with narrow's, your more then welcome up North hope your not blonde, as I've enough of female dreamer's, would rather have a common sense brunette with a springer then a blonde with a widebeam.
  2. I think it was the sympathy thing that upset her, it has now however been removed by the moderator. If people take the time to read all the threads, posts and the magazine article attachment about this boat they will see that most of what I have an opinion on is quite true.
  3. Thought I would put it a bit closer for you to read and spot wrigglefingers
  4. maybe you need a thicker skin if you let things like this offend you so much, maybe you should read the very first post by the Thread starter "Sorry" and spot the word relating to female genitalia which I thought as a female you would find more offensive.
  5. nice to see a member that lives in the real world
  6. This situation will have no effect on me or the majority of people posting on this topic, but as you say it will be interesting to see what effect this has on the owner and will she aquire a mooring to accomodate her new lifestyle, or even move off the lock mooring for the time being, locals please let us know Thank's just go's to show that people take these forums too seriously, dosn't take the brains of a Bishop to know you don't moor on lock mooring 24/7 especially on a busy canal
  7. Sorry seams to make it all right, maybe you should read your previous posts on this matter http://www.canalworl...ndpost&p=774186 http://www.canalworl...ndpost&p=774198 http://www.canalworl...ndpost&p=774258
  8. Not comfortable lets see what happens if she is still there or moves to not cause an obstruction, I take my hat off to the member and members of the Forum who have brought it to everyone's attention as it doe's seam to be a problem with boats passing through that lock
  9. If you read all the posts, articles and the magazine articles you will see there pretty accurate assumptions. Oh seams to make a difference if you are a girl, is that an excuse to cause an obstruction and moor on Lock moorings? and according to the people who have encountered this boat she has had the chance to move her boat further back to not cause an obstruction
  10. Having read both article's on this Lady, she seams to be one of the many people coming on to the canal network through circumstances rather then choice who see it as a cheap place to live while still working in the area especially down on the Southern network who suddenly class themselves as "Boater's" which most people wouldn't mind if she was in a Marina or on an official mooring which could accommodate that size of boat, did she not research her new way of life before buying her boat and find out about moorings, size restrictions etc or was she carried away with living the dream and seeing a wow factor boat and lifestyle through rose coloured glasses? While reading the public article's about her being a teacher with a son, I doubt that she would be moving far from her place of work and as stated by other canal users in the area this seams to be the case, She says BW are aware of this due to personal circumstances, work/son in education?? but what is the difference between her being a CC'er and the case of Davis on the K&A and having to move out the area a certain distance? Will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks to see how far she moves, please keep us updated Alan.
  11. hope you find one close or a company that delivers, just looked all over my Aarrow not a CE mark or NR mark anywhere and passed BSC no trouble, never even realised it was welded steel construction unlike the Morso's cast, I would go for an Aarrow anyday. Good Luck.
  12. small problem is that there's only a couple of canals in the Somerset area that go no-where and the farmers do not do liver, so it's a car collection and as your location suggests your up North the cost of fuel may make it a bit more expensive then sourcing a supplier that does do liver, where was the Acorn for £299?
  13. The only Aarrow I can find near that price is the Aarrow/Arada AX2 with various names £299 & £46 pp from Ebay or from http://www.woodburnerwarehouse.co.uk/multi_fuel_stoves/arada_stoves/ax1_multifuel_stove.phtml
  14. Your boat will not fail a BSC if you use a single skin, the BS8511-2010 is only advisory and not compulsory please see the following link http://www.soliftec.com/Boat%20Stoves%201-page.pdf for fitting a stove to a small craft, as for the CE mark I've never known a boat's stove to fail on that issue, You probably stand more chance of killing yourself by using that gas fire, Do stoves need to be CE marked to comply with the BSC????
  15. I wouldn't worry about the double skin flue, there are more boats on the waterways with single then double and I see new boats being built with single skins, the new guide lines are only advisory and not compulsory, please see the recent thread http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=43038&st=0&p=790060entry790060 and there is probably more on the single/double skin flue debate.
  16. I have a Aarrow Becton slightly bigger KW output then the one your looking at, but I have had no problems with it and would have another Aarrow, I've seen quite a few Morso squirrals with completly trashed riddling grates and rods, splits and loose fitting panals, also I prefer the door locks on the Aarrows, I think it's a name thing with the Morso's, I prefer my Aarrow.
  17. Hi, yes had a look at one of their Marlin widebeams that came into the Marina in the summer, the owner's bought it as a cancelled order what I believe and to be honest it was a very high quality boat and a bargin price, was quite impressed they seam very good value for the money. people might associate them with Collingwood/liverpool boat builders but for the price the owners paid for their 57x10 widebeam that I saw it was a great deal just as much wow factor that I see on boats costing alot more.
  18. Have a look at this link it seams quite informative with regards to boat stoves and chimneys and as the replies and this site state the new BSS is not compulsory, but I'm sure alot of people will be trying to make money on it be saying all old single skin fitting will not comply with the BSS, but it's only advisory amd not compulsory, please see the following link http://www.soliftec.com/Boat%20Stoves%201-page.pdf
  19. Oh for god's sake once again a pair of kids that think they can just up sticks and live on the canals for a cheap way of life, lol, why don't you try for a morgage on a house? Oh maybe you can't being a sucsesfull business man that pays himself minimuim wage, tossa
  20. once again you tell the world of your plight, some how you seam hard done by, both in getting your loan oh sorry you didn't, maybe there's more to your situatian then your telling. after all I here you were a couple of kids, anyway good luck on your NARROWBOAT as it seams you sure couldn't afford the £70,000 dutch barge you tried for, time wasters oh once again sorry kids, Oh
  21. nobody starts painting their boat this time of year unless it's all in undercoat, good luck for the colder weather as living the dream is not realality
  22. why apologise? all I have stated you have told the world on your previous Threads and posts and added some more on this one with regards to your financial situation and being unable to get a loan, So as I said hope you have everything in place this time before you put the offer in both financial and moorings and as for the contracts read them at the brokers and get any issues sorted out at that stage, it saves time as the quicker you can complete will work in your favour, good luck.
  23. If people minded their own business what would be the point of forums like these??? as would you post an answer to people's threads if you minded your own business? I did I'm on about previous threads and posts as he said he put an offer in for a boat and agreed to have the contracts amended prior to survey but in the end he could not get aproval for the additional money he needed to complete so he is now looking for a cheaper boat, what's your problem or have I misread he's previous threads???? Why don't YOU read he's previous threads as there well documented that he could not get a loan for the additional funds, all I'm saying is it's always better to have your funds in place before you put the offers in and have contracts drawn up unlike last time he went for a boat.
