  4. Hello Willawaw, your other "home" ??? We are now moored at the top of New Marton Locks on the Llangollan canal, here for the Easter break, weather ain`t doing us any favours though. We stop here for a couple of weeks then make our way down to Hurleston Locks at the bottom of same canal ( takes about 3 or 4 days ) Then do the return trip right through out the season. This being the popular canal for holiday hirers the shop is geared towards them, so we ply our trade here. We are continuious cruisers so can only stay in one place for 14 days at a time. We also restock at Hurleston as we have the use of a car there. No your not, my fingers were. We are on the Llangollan, hirers a plenty, 3mph is doing good, if you want to save paint and nerves Hi Bob , is your NB the green one with the church windows, if so, yep that was us. Hi Enforcer, our shop is like a little corner shop, drinks, sweets, crisps, bread, ( part baked) milk ( uht ) tinned stuff, you get the idea. Look forward to seeing you.
  5. Yes, selling off a narrowboat is very possible, we do and have`nt done bad for our first season. You can have a look at our web site/blog at www.shoponthecanal.co.uk which tells you a bit about how when an where we started. What we are aiming to do is hopefully have the shop make enough to cover the cost of the running of Teila, licence, diesel, maintenance and if we make more then that is the top bonus. We can both work through the winter months on the agency if we fall short, but let me tell you it is all well worth the effort. If you need anymore info by all means ask away, be delighted to answer ... Garry, Julie an Pooch Jenny NB Teila
  6. Hi one an all, this is Garry ,Julie and the pooch Jenny on NB Teila. We left the rat race in December 2006, downsized ( alot ) and joined the 3mph club on the cut. Teila is 58 foot of beauty, 19 years young and a pleasure to live in. We have a small shop on board and ply the Llangollan through the season ( march to november ) aiming to be self serficent in a couple of years from now, all being well. No matter what happens we could`nt think of going back too bricks an mortar, the boat has become something more than any house could ever mean too us. This just a small introduction, if you have any questions, please ask away, if you see us out on the cut stop for a chat or give us a wave. Take Care Out there. Mottley Crew of Teila
