  2. Thank all for your help, i think i will replace the propeller with a thicker grade, but not sure how to get it off while in the water. there seems to be a cone shape cover on the spline and i cannot see the split pin. any ideas would be much appreciated Thanks Colin
  3. i have a isuzu 42 Liverpool 2008 boat, and for the second time in 8 months i have bent the propeller on something below the water line. there was no big bang just a sound of wood hitting the blade. could this be a sign of a bad designed or thin propeller, or just bad luck. i have straightened the best i can, the last one cost £800 to replace. your thoughts please. Colin

  8. It on;ly rattles when i slow down from a 1000 revs to 500 revs to pass boats and only for a split second still in gear, its more of a shake than a rattle
  9. Hi All, dose anyone know what the idle speed on the rev metre should be on my isuzu 42 engine. At the moment it runs at about 500 but the engine shakes when it slows down but when the tick over is sped up to 700 everything is ok .thanks colin.

  11. Thanks all for your comments I’m going on the thames and could take water on through the vent so I was thinking of covering it and venting into the boat until I return to the canals later Colin.
  12. Hi all can anyone tell how much carbon monoxide a gas pilot light would give off in a narrow boat that vent in side the boat from a gas fridge. Thanks Colin
  13. Thanks for all your advise it is much appreciated Colin.
  14. not sure what you meen, but dont sound good.
  15. Thanks very much for your help. The 4107 cost £2500 to be reconditioned and runs like a pig blowing out diesel onto the water and blue smoke and sounds like a bag of spanners.
  16. Can anyone tell how diesel can find its way into a recondition perkins engine sump. The lift and fuel pump have both been changed.
  17. Hi All. I have just read about a water proof primer from tool station at £25 per 5 litres also a black antifoul for the top coat. I am going to paint the hull. I think the paint is by Flag. I don’t want to use Bitchaman on the hull, as it comes off so quick. Does anyone have any thoughts? Colin

    alarm

Hi all. I normally load my van up the night before I drive to the boat so I can get away before the traffic starts, but just lately my alarm wont work so I have to load up on the day which means I get away late. If I move the van away from my house the alarm works properly and sometimes it woks on my drive to. Has anyone got any ideas. Thanks Colin
