Maybe modify your showering technique. ‘Navy’ showers are the way to go.
My wife and I manage on about 30 litres a day with showers, hair washing daily and washing up etc.

In that position I doubt it provides much motive power - it may be a little better if it is put into the water.
Maybe it's based on a modified Ecofan. The draught produced by the propeller would blow the boat along.

Whilst the piling looks like typical waterways, crt could argue that it is the landowner’s tree that is causing the damage and so is their responsibility.
I would cut the tree down pretty smartish.

Excellent. “Dolphins and wish-washy water maidens”.
The observations on the railway one are interesting too, particularly Johnathan Meades introductory comments.

Usual problem is the crud building up on the top of the baffle plate at the top of the firebox. Take the baffle plate out before rattling the flue.
the other baffle referred to by TD shouldn’t be there, but some installers don’t understand the setup for a short flue and don’t remove it.

Yes I have just seen that one. I thought this was a new, more severe lockdown.

already being talked about in another thread.
I looked too, must have missed it. Sorry.
Eta: I’m not so sure, this has just been announced as total lockdown; admittedly the Llangollen was already covered.

No visitors from tier 2 or 3, so no one can travel into Wales on the Llangollen as Cheshire is tier 2. No option to go south either as Hack Green is to closed.

Interesting that virtually all the boats are empty. What is it upstream that they are all heading for?

Looks nearly as bad as when my Saab 95 blew it's turbo - I ended up having to drive it to my brother's house (just over half a mile) as he had a drive and I wanted to SORN it.
Walking back I could still smell the oil in the air.
My Audi A6 did something similar. Looked like I was running on coal. Managed to reach the dealer and when I stopped the car just sat in the middle of a black cloud.
Most unreliable car I ever had in my company car days.

So are historic ex- working narrowboats, which typically exceed 7ft 1" (just) subject to the additional 5% surcharge?
I suspect all those working boats will be magically pulled in to just under 7’ 1”.

I think the reference might have been to Fortune Green, which is between Cricklewood and West Hampstead (and very close to where I am now!). The estate agents have had various attempts to rebrand Kilburn as South West Hampstead, but it hasn't really caught on. West Hampstead and South Hampstead definitely exist ...
As a student I lived in "West Chelsea" for a while ...

Near the Welsh border is a village called "New Invention ". Some way had added underneath "patent applied for ".

It may be that you need ten posts before the pm service will work.
Last time(a few months ago) I said that I was told it no longer applies.

Yes of of course it’s ‘them that do’ that’re the problem. I agree.
I tell you though, this bloke’s been given a boat to play in and he’s on a jolly.
It’d be more eco friendly to have him walk his beat and engage with the perps on the towpath.
He don’t need a boat.
Walking the towpath he could present a caring and friendly manner, pointing out mistakes and educating folk about their errors in life.
Just out of interest, is he doing this as part of his official role as a PCSO, or is he doing it in his own time?

Now that's what I call a project boat!

Try "fiddle rail"

Many years ago A group of us had taken out the college minibus for a weekend field trip. During the trip I noticed a fuel leak coming from a little pipe on the top of the engine. Knowing little about diesel engines at the time I took a geological hammer to it and crimped it up. Went fine for the rest of the weekend. I don't know if it was ever fixed!

The moral is, don't lend your boat to strangers!
Do let us know when you get a conclusion to this.

Last summer I left my Kia Sportage for three weeks on the drive. I fully expected to need to charge the battery due to the alarm, but it started happily.

Isn't that a case of his preferring the better option, but the cheaper one prevailing? Think Sony Betamax vs VHS.
Absolutely. Just think how much better the rail system (worldwide) would have been if the gauge had been built to a seven (and a 1/4”) foot gauge.
Back on topic, I left the boat without isolating the batteries and with the fridge door open the batteries were almost completely flat after a few days. Went back after a couple of weeks and voltmeter showed nothing. Recharged over the next few days cruising and I expected them to be knackered but they continued another couple of years with no obvious loss of capacity.

There is no dark aside of the moon really. As a matter of fact it’s all dark.

Post a link to the boat for a start. This will help people judge the price.
