No worries, don't forget you saw it here first!

There's one next to the GU at New Bradwell in MK, which does oil recycling, and battery should it be required!!

So after spending some time on the house and with my daughter, I finally have had a nice day to get back to the shed, and have finally finished the units, in glorious bank holiday weekend sunshine. 4 coats of Danish oil have really bought them alive. Now all I need to do is get them to Judith Ann, and help my dad crack on with the cabin in anticipation of getting her to Pelsall in June!!

thats good, as you've said before, it is underused, and the more that use it the better. There is a definate sense of pride at the basin, alot of people who are there were involved in the restoration years ago, and still hold regular work parties. At the limit of navigation, they are currently extending the cromford canal, only a few metres but bit by bit it is getting there!!

Enjoy your extended stay at Langley Mill, its a great little basin and worth the trip up the Erewash, although tying up there, going up and down the Erewash each time can become a bit tedious! if you need any help there is a great community there, and a very broad skills base between all who tie up there!

we managed to get Small Woolwich butty Meteor up there, granted she was de-rigged, but i can't remember if we got onto sandy bank or not, i'm sure my dad would remember, i'll check with him, i think it may have been just a bit too tight!!!!

I suspect it's the light, but it had 11 years of wear and relacquering before I got it, it might be that, but it does appear slightly darker than it is
Dan
ETA,
its definately the light, the pictures don't quite do it justice!!!!

It's junckers beech flooring, which has been well and truly butchered one way or another. Cat flap is for coal, good job we've got black cats!!!
I have thought about boat fitting, if I ever get bored of theatre!!!

Two short lines which attach to the towed boats T stud LH one goes to the right hand dolly and vice versa. The idea is then the towed boat will follow the 'motor'. Used when pairs were singled out but not on a snubber.

That's the beauty of Internet forums, names can be deceiving!! I'm a Stage Manager and Theatrical Carpenter with a man shed full of tools and not enough hours in the day to do stuff Due to working heavily unsocial hours and there we have it. Stage management are known as stage damagement in work so guessed it's a viable username!!!

Thanks Bazza, i feel its been worth all the hard graft in the end, now all thats left is a wall unit......not this month though!!

so far in total, minus labour, they have cost 70 quid, for fixings and Danish oil, even the sink was free!!!!!!

Over Christmas at work, we had a cold water main burst due to the cold weather. Now that is another story but the short version is, is that we had to have one of our Front of House function rooms refurbished including the floor. Now, me being me, and always haveing an eye out for things, i saw an oppurtunity, and managed to get about 60 square metres of water damaged floor. Some of this will hopefully go down as the floor in Judith Ann, but the rest i planed back, and built a couple of Galley units. Being a wooden hull they are built as free standing....just in case, and will be bolted in rather than permanently fixed. They have taken about 2 months to do, in amongst work, and baby, but are finally ready for a nice coat of Danish Oil, and installing!!!

Not sure about liveboard but being local, fenny station is one stop from bletchley, or a 15 min walk, red lion pub at fenny lock is good as is bull and butcher on the high St. The high street has everything you need, there Is a Tesco, b and q, wicks, and the like all within a ten min walk and MK centre is about 5 min car journey away.

Aah 20c40, got to love it, pretty much the whole of the backstage at MK Theatre is painted that, in Matt, silk or eggshell. We source from Dulux centre and I think they can do it in all paints. Roll on summer and the 50 odd doors and hundreds of square metres of Walls with a handful of trusty technicians and a bucket load of the stuff!
If your in the MK area Dulux is just off Fenny Stratford high street on Denmark Street just past Pollards the tool shop

Can you not cut through her and count the rings??

My dads just refurbished one, apparently it now works as new, not sure if it was the same fault though. Certainly do-able and cheaper than new!

On Judith Ann we are in the process of fitting out, so have factored a drawer into a unit for waste. And, of course, the stove will eat a fair amount! We're quite restricted for space, being only 5' 6" ish between lining planks, so every possible space is being used to maximise potential, and being environmentally conscious the units are being built out of reclaimed water damaged flooring, coming up a treat. Hopefully photos will follow!

At least the continuity was better this week as they started from and hit the south end of harecastle, turn into the Maccy - hitting the bank when most first timers manage here. Then they were up at Bollington doing the paint bit.
Not sure about that, I'm sure it was this week which said they were on the macc, then there was a shot of Aston lock on the lower T&M, which is wide!
My two penneth is that taken on face value it is harmless entertainment, it is wrong to laugh at hitting other peoples' boats, or bridges and tunnels, but without actually being there we are reliant on forming an opinion based on editing, done in such a way to create entertainment. I will happily be corrected if I am wrong, I have missed an episode or two!!!
