Yea but the original rivetted chine angle is still there as well meaning they "replated" by adding the bottom of another boat or the top of another boat? Im confused...
chopped out and replaced with new steel.

I've seen the water at Billing go up by 6ft overnight when they open the Washland sluices. I'd be very wary of mooring on line on the Nene without a good floating mooring. it took us 20 years to find our piece of land and private water, and that wasn't openly advertised. Good luck with your search!

i'd say it was Hazlehurst too, with the photographer standing on the bridge over the railway.

i'd say Tyrley top too.

There are some ghostly white tarps over lumps in the hold....hope they get the straps in the right place.
Gardner I believe.... or possibly Lister.

oh Frosty..... we had such high hopes.... still, I can't imagine it'll be too long now till you get them winched up into your field. I guess leaving them sunk and in the way helps to preserve the lower timbers.....

Hey Frosty, what's the update? i'm not sure if you've exceeded the 14 day mooring at Buckby top yet with Ariel, must be nearly time to relaunch no??

The other I think is Lupus?
-
I thought from memory it is about 6ft of Cormorant sides with two pointy bits........

i'm a fan of marking out the position the guard needs to be, then tacking some flat bar on to the line for the convex to sit on, depending on the sweep, it may be necessary to tack some horseshoes on to wedge into position, and as others have said, regular tacks helps to reduce the risk of the guard kinking.
Kind regards

Langley Mill Boatyard pin is incorrect, as it is in the middle of a private mooring basin. we also provide Diesel and pump out, No gas sadly!

Shorter than the original shortness?
yes I believe so.
-
I'm aware of Ash, but she is now 9 inches shorter.

the only original Erewash butty left.
-
-
Langley Mill has been hit badly, the Erewash has burst it's banks, and the feeder from Moorgreen res has topped over at 5ft, flooding the boatyard and all our buildings, and topping the canal which has now flooded onto the road.

At Langley Mill, the canal has topped the bank, as has the feeder from Moorgreen reservoir, Shipley Gate measuring station is about 2" off its highest ever reading.

Advanced Technical Panels would get my vote too

Progress is a lovely little boat to my mind - and the advert here has given me something to think about for sure..although Id take the ropes off her deck straight away lol
Shes in very good nick considering her age and while there is an issue in her hull it wasnt that that led me to sell her...as silly as it sounds I simply found her uncomfortably small 🤷🙂
The issue in her hull is this - on her front right hand side the swim plank - longest plank from forend down side and first on bottom boards has a hole in right on the bend where her bows straighten out ...the original plank used has very open grain there and on the bend rott set in and worked its way straight through...I plugged it with a few blocks, redid the internal sheeting ( the whole is about a foot long all way through, packed with resin and horse shit lol and put a metal alli plate over it which was bent over and under bottom boards...it was water tights but vulnerable 🙂
..the rest of hull when I had it out and cleaned off and blacked and caulked was very good
The guys I sold her to - I showed them the pics of hull hole - did a really nice reskin of her cabin and deck as that was leaking a bit at time..
..very pretty little boat and a lovely feel to her.. 🙂👍
sorry about spell check - I cant see how to get back to edit duh! lol 🤷
congratulations on your imminent purchase!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣

sorry I missed you. week 4 of 5 in South Korea. nearly done!!

i have a set of his winter plates, which I am very fond of.

12k would be pretty fair. Depending on hull condition, but work has been carried out recently i believe. There are only 2 Keays tugs in existence, and the other one won't be for sale any time soon. Worth a punt if you're that way inclined.

Hi all,
It's been a couple of months since, and we've moved on a bit, working mainly on the stern, and building the bow up ready to get the top bend and bow chine profiles scribed in. We have also set up a page, over on Facebook if anyone is one there and wishes to follow our progress.

NB Winifred Wharf Street Depot, Stoke on Trent C1935

these photos of the Stoke on Trent area are fascinating, and certainly helps to showcase craft that weren't for GU, FMC, or BW... I'm still searching for fleet lists for the North West fleets, especially Anderton Company and Mersey Weaver. scant details are known to exist but somewhere, surely there must be a list or two still existing...... who is willing to accept the challenge!!!
