I recently came across a boat with a front cratch made from clear plastic/perspex which would answer my wife's worries about light and visibility - anyone know who makes them?

Once again, thanks for your help. In fact the vendor is having the boat certified by a qualified surveyor who is also helping him gather all the necessary paperwork and then securing the CIN and, for belt and braces, I am having my own survey and valuation so things should be OK. I'll check on the manufacturers papers as well - it is a Liverpool hull fitted out as a sailaway plus by the New Boat Co. Again thanks for clearing the fog.DerekR
GuysThanks for your help and I think we have a conclusion in sight with an RCD certficate to be issued next week. I think it was as much a surprise to the vendor as to me but all seems OK now. I think the message for sellers is that within 5 years of buying and developing a sailaway you do need the certificate and getting one can be a bit pricey. The Hampshire County Council site is really helpful and does set out was it needed and so thanks again.Derek
I am considering buying a second hand narrowboat but I am totally confused as to what documentation I require!
The boat in question was bought by the present owner from the New Boat Co in 2003 as a sailaway plus and was then fitted out and used by the present owner and his family. I am having the boat surveyed by a qualified surveyor and the owner is having a new Boat Safety Certificate issued this week.
Question - do I need a Declaration of Conformity in line with RCD requirements or will the Boat Safety Certificate suffice - it came with a certificate as a sailaway but lots of work has been done since.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
