Does Steve of Ash Boats still not use a separate client account for deposits/cleared funds then?

I have no idea, however my purchase went through ok with all paperwork, bill of sale etc recieved.

Any thoughts on second boat I posted, also new but looking more mainstream ?  Hurst are the fitters and yes I have searched and found a few comments from way back on here that aren't too complimentary

  2. Excellent reviews though.....

What is it about this hobby of ours?  Can someone reccomend any builder / broker ?

When I bought first boat back in January there were tales of doom on here about Stephen Harral who i bought it off.  To be fair it went well

, no complaints in the end, even sold boat for small profit.

Now am back in the lions den again

  3. Hi all.  You gave me great advice on first boat a few months ago and now due to a nice change of circumstance we are onto boat no 2.  We now know what we really want, 55 to 60 ft semi trad and poss even a new build.  This is one have found but doing a search for the builder on here only reveals threads from 2007, is it even same person?

Seems nice chap but would value your sage advice.

  4. Not realised it had been so long since posted on here, lockdown, lost password and other matters had kept me away from here.

Firstly thanks to all who advised me on this, a stressful journey.  Sleepless nights what have i done / bought, questions about brokers reputation, late paperwork.  At several points i wish had not started this quest.   Have bought property abroad and it was less stressful !

All finally completed in March due to delay in getting work done by marina from survey.   Then, Not being a liveaboard i could not move boat until a month ago.

Now at Overwater marina and........we love it!!!!!   25 hours cruising, few scrapes, we dread returning to marina as accurately mooring it needs bit more practice but from what have read on here this normal.

    Thanks again for all advice

  5. Well have just paid for a boat and few days on i have access to boat, keys are left at marina that broker works out of, but said i could take keys away with me. Have owners manual BSC etc ...so do i own a boat or should i wait for seller to return bill of sale i have signed before i relax?

  6. The manager is chap we dealt with.  Very helpful despite not having firm dates for arrival was understanding and flexible. Cant get there now till Easter due to culvert collapse but they said no problem deposit on mooring will be held and dates will only start when we arrive.   So far quite impressed with customer service.

  7. Currently my boat is at Nantwich booked into Overwater but cant get there till Easter. Cant go North as works at Beeston locks and wont get far on Barbridge link as have works ongoing on a bridge near Middlewhich.     It appears i have bought a very expensive static caravan.....

  8. Survey yesterday and hull etc all good. However inverter and webasto not working but broker has agreed to fix / replace.  Main worry is bulge on 1 internal wall.   Surveyor thought timber vertical rail, poss held in with sprayfoam had come loose bringing int vertical batten and MDF panel with it. This bulge is only around 20mm . You can see the deflection as you look down length of boat.   Should i be worried? A deal breaker or something to negotiate price down?
