Reminds me of a few decades ago on the Thames, piloting a bow-steered GRP. We got to a lock landing and an out-of-breath boy came up and said "Sorry my dad cast onto your boat, can I get his gear back please?" We'd literally taken hook, float and sinker, and 200m of line 1/4 of a mile up the river! Ooops..sorry!
