I'm a wannabe Boatpainter/Signwriter because I've always painted my own boats and now feel up to being let loose on boats in general. I also paint Canalware and have had some success with that locally. Alas there's no canals here in Northumberland, but the little harbour/village where I live is called Seaton Sluice because there used to be a sluice gate here many years ago. My love for the 'cut' grew when I realised I'd had enough of being tossed from pillar to post at sea. I'll leave all that to the Ellen MacArthur's of the world. No, I'm all for the serenity of the cut interspersed with that lovely melody that only a windlass on a groundpaddle can create.
