  1. whatever tired now and for your information a engine is a engine only difference is the cooling the all work the same if people would read rather than guess shit then they would see that all i said was you can change the rings without pulling the pistons out of the block completely that is it ,and that a good inspection from someone who knows what they are doing before removing the engine is good advice and as for as being insulting well they deserve it because they no SFA end of blog
  2. all i said was you dont have to remove the pistons to change the rings but if you had to change the rings the the engine would have to be removed , but do i have to say a re all that dense behind the ears ,
  3. if people would read what i put then you will see that i talked about having a CT done first , the last thing you want to be doing is taking an engine out that is the last resort
  4. Finally, someone who knows what they are talking about, yes most early air-cooled engines are like that but then you're talking the Holy Grail like the early Porsche 365 crank and rods are one german engineering at its best let's all take a bow, we will never see it again in our lifetime.
  5. well, that explains a lot, didn't realize they were children, ive blocked the idiots now I won't be talking about anything to do with engines again because quite frankly I may as well be talking to a brick wall,
  6. ANOTHER SPACE CADET STRANGE VIEWS TELL ME WHAT IS STRANGE IN FACT DOT BOTHER!
  7. Sorry to many idiots on this site board now !!! Hi Bod good question the first remark is not meant for you it's for the space cadet's that no SFA you unbolt the bearings push the conrod up the bore then remove the rings replace the rings push the piston back in to place bolt the bearing back up, job done, position remains in the block, however if your going to remove the rings without removing the head then you would have to remove the crank , I would never do this.
  8. sick of pepole making comments they know SFAA REMOTE VISUAL INSPECTION OF DIESEL ENGINES Diesel engines are used to power everything from a small water pump at your local nursery to a 1,000’ freighter plying the world’s oceans. For reliability, efficiency, adaptability and long life, nothing beats a diesel. VJ-ADV BORESCOPES FOR ROUTINE INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE Routine maintenance is critically important in ensuring that a diesel engine reaches the upper limits of its useful life. The VJ-Advance video borescope is a great addition to the diesel technician’s took kit, saving considerable time and expense in conducting a visual inspection of the combustion chamber of large diesel engines. TEST THE VJ-ADV BORESCOPE AT YOUR FACILITY Sign up to receive your free demo borescope and put the VJ-ADV to the test at your facility doing your inspections.
  9. how do you know this do you get some one with borescope to see what was going on , did you do a compression test , 10 hours labor with the engine out , that taking Micky , i love to open up your engine and see what they have done , lot of the Mitsubishi blocks that were made for marine use or plant use use metal gaskets , they can be reused , but my advice, anyone that has an internal engine problem get looked at with a borescope can save a lot of money a messing around , do you only have a tiny engine bay ? you can change the rings with out removing pistons , its not a big job , i find it hard to believe all of the rings were gone did they give you back your engine bits top prove they had actually changed them ? i would advise anyone to do this .
  10. best think to do is find out what Mitsubishi block you have , why did you need a head gasket did head go ,how much did that cost ,
  11. To increase the low-speed torque of an engine is to increase the stroke, sometimes known as "shaft-strokin this is all that they are doing stroke comes from the piston thumb of rule 2 revolutions to ever stroke of the piston, have you heard of a re-bore , using over size rings , the block remains the same ,you re-bore it Piston stroke. The distance the axis of the crank throws from the axis of the crankshaft determines the piston stroke , bmw mercedes they all do it , can you imagine the manufacturing cost to change the block on ever model , anyway its boring now this don.t mean to be rude but i can not be A with it anymore. Dose anyone know a good cabinet maker around Middlewich
  12. This is correct information but its still the same block, the cylinder head is the same the gasket sent is identical, my engine s4l66dm-np2 mfg date o62
  13. Yhey work well with narrow boats ,as long as your not close to any locks, but everyone to there own. they work perfect for me and and i shell be welding tags on for the hooks , perfect for windy condition's no rocking sleep well .
  14. Vetus M4.45 Mitsubishi Engine 42Hp FWC TMC60A 2:1 Again don,t know were your getting your info from but this is one of there present range of engine and the block is a 4kd , they can say what they like but that is a 4kd block
  15. the engine was brand new i have the paper work to prove it and the warranty card and they are still using the 4kd block on there 4 cylinder engines were do you get your information from they don,t make engines full stop they use other manufactured engines.
  16. yes i know the manger there but they don t fabricate they do fit outs , but thank you
  17. Have any of you ever heard of ratchet straps heavy duty what they use to transport cars im using them now , it don,t move , i got this , just need the tin man now that will come to site , if i can not find one ill do my self , im good with a Mig , not with dc i stick welding but its out of the water line so should be ok
  18. T.hanks for that but the bedroom is at the bow , and ill have a good 12 ft of stern space when im done so plenty of room Regards
  19. Thank you for that, i would not of re ran the thread if i though that the response would solve my request,

  21. Report post #1 Posted Sunday at 12:36 (edited) I have recently brought a 75ft narrow boat I want to make the stern area bigger. I've a private mooring with all facility's, im not looking at lifting the boat ou , i believe the work can be done where it is, i'm looking at finding a mobile fabricator welder and a cabinet maker. I'm in the Middlewich area near The King's Lock pub port post #1 Posted Sunday at 12:36 (editeI have recently brought a 75ft narrow boat I want to make the stern area bigger. 22. like i said i don,t think its anything to do with the skin tanks , and i would send you a picture only the engine is out because im planning to chop the cabin to open it up more id like it bigger at the stern for standing , and im looking at getting my bike on a Bonnie 120 , ive got 75ft and there is only going to one bedroom, Regards
  23. that is probably because the were not around , all they have done is paint it yellow but a few bits on and call it a vetus they don,t manufacturer and they or fix engines you could buy engines from land rover paint them pink and do the same , they are just over priced and trying to pull the wool over our eyes , your block is the same as mine , they have used the k4 for years on plant equipment , and tractors Regards
  24. All so the anything with the k4 or the k3 means its the same block your k4e is the same bock as my k4d k4c k4d k4e k4f all you the same block and water pump they are just difrent codes for the block , the name plate you get from vetus you wont math anything but your block as a engine code that you match up .
  25. Hi Sorry but you miss understand when i made The remark about the k4d i was referring to that particular block and from what ive learnt and been told its only available in a 3/ 4 cylinders because the block comes as 3kd 4kd they use the same crank, rods , pistons, i may be wrong but ive not heard of a 2kd Mitsubishi block ,im sure Mitsubishi make 2 cylinder engine its took me a very long time and a lot of research to get my contact , My company import products from the USA ,so im looking into a possible business venture with this supplier. knowing what i do now my friend is a mobile diesel fitter and an excellent engineer mechanic, if i do deiced to progress with this venture we will only be supplying major engine parts , not consumables. Regards
